Lessons from History

Defense expert Shrikant Paranjpe compared different wars, highlighting the crucial role of political leadership in military success.

"The 1962 India-China war suffered due to political interference in military decisions. However, in 1965 and 1971, allowing military officers autonomy led to major victories," he stated.

He emphasized the need for coordination between defense personnel, veterans, and strategic experts to develop a comprehensive understanding of military sciences.

War Stories & Insights

Air Marshal Pingle reflected on his wartime experiences, recalling the high-intensity combat of 1965.

"It was an action-packed time. Whether attacking or defending, sometimes both, our training took over, leaving no space for fear," he shared.

Lt. Col. Dhamdhere spoke about the importance of preserving military heritage, stating:

"This exhibition aims to spread awareness about the war’s history and uphold India’s post-independence military culture."

He expressed satisfaction over the event’s impact, saying:

"The session at DoCJ was truly amazing, and the overwhelming response reassures us that our objective has been achieved."

A Walk Through History

Military history expert Nitin Shastri guided visitors through the exhibition, explaining key photographs and events of the war. The display provided attendees with a deeper understanding of India’s strategic and military efforts during the conflict.

A Tribute to Bravery

The event honored the courage and sacrifices of 1965 war heroes, reinforcing the importance of learning from history for future defense strategies.
