Student-Driven Initiative to Decode the Budget
Pune: Parag Kalkar Pro Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University highlighted the need for more economic doctors (experts) while guiding the students at Union Budget Exhibition at SPPU. Department of Economics, SPPU organised a one-day ‘Union Budget Exhibition’ on Friday.

Dr. Kalkar inaugurated the exhibition. He also discussed the importance of economics and urged students to participate more in economic development.

Programme Coordinator, Mansi Gore expressed, “It is completely a student-driven activity, where they showcased the gist of what we have learned and discussed in the course.” “It is a well-balanced budget where every sector got proper allocation,” she added while talking about the Budget.
Engaging Exhibition Format
The exhibition was held in two parts, first a digital video was played explaining what exactly the Budget is and its history. Later, the poster showcasing various concepts was explained by the Department students. Highlights of Economic Survey were also explained in detail.
Encouraging Economic Awareness
Student Coordinator Tejas Ghadge emphasized that the exhibition's goal was to raise awareness among students about key budgetary concepts.
The exhibition witnessed participation from various department heads, faculty members, and students, reinforcing the importance of economic literacy among future professionals.
