AI is not a threat, rather an opportunity: Anand Bagawade.

Pune: "Artificial Intelligence (AI) should be seen as an opportunity rather than a threat", Advocate Anand Bagawade emphasized at a session organized by the Pune Management Association and the Department of Communication and Journalism, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on Monday. The event focused on AI’s impact on creative industries, copyright laws, and the voice-over sector.

AI and Artistic Adaptation

Bagawade underscored the importance of artists adapting to AI,

“The biggest achievement for any artist could be mastering AI for our own good.” 

The session explored the rise of voice cloning technology, its advantages, drawbacks, and how artists can turn challenges into opportunities.

Additionally, Bagawade discussed the Copyright Act of 1957, the legal framework surrounding AI-generated content, and Japan’s Directives for Personal and Commercial Data. He provided structured solutions and checkpoints to help industries navigate AI’s transformative potential.

AI: A Necessity, Not Just an Advantage

With AI rapidly reshaping media, content creation, and the creative sector, the session concluded on a powerful note understanding and leveraging AI is no longer optional; it is essential for survival and growth.

AI in the Attention Economy

Anandsagar Shiralkar, another speaker at the event, discussed AI’s role in accelerating creative processes. He remarked, “We can take an unfair advantage by leveraging AI to speed up our work.”

Highlighting the shift toward the attention economy, Shiralkar noted, 

“If we decode this and connect the dots, no one can stop us.” 

He further emphasized the growing trend of digital monetization, adding, “Everyone is now focused on content monetization.”

With technology rapidly reshaping creative fields, the consensus was clear: understanding and leveraging AI is not just an advantage but a necessity.
